Horses have been a major influence in Pétur Behrens life and artistic carreer. He discovered the Icelandic horse early in his life while still living in Germany and still a student of the arts when he first visited Iceland.
With his book, Hestar (Horses) the artist makes an effort to introduce his work to lovers of the arts and admirers of horses. The book portrays his work and includes around 100 drawings and paintings of the Icelandic horse, complete with texts, written by the artist, in Icelandic, English and German. Prof. Dr. Ewald Isebügel writes the introduction. The book is 224 pages.
